United States: Mr. Elon Musk has revealed the new logo for Twitter, choosing a “minimalist art deco” X. The Twitter owner’s new move comes as part of rebranding the platform.
The Twitter owner noted that the design would be altered, tweeting that it “probably changes later and certainly will be refined.”
Ms. Linda Yaccarino, Twitter’s CEO, confirmed the change by tweeting the design with the message “X is here! Let’s do this.”

Mr. Musk sought design ideas from his 149 million followers on Twitter and appeared to have selected a logo he had flagged in a flickering video posted to the top of his Twitter feed.
Mr. Musk has long been talking about the “X” logo, which represents his vision for an “everything app” he intends to launch in the future. Just before buying Twitter in October, Mr. Musk referred to the social media platform as “an accelerant to creating X, the everything app.”
The X concept is also modelled on WeChat, the Chinese app that allows users to perform multiple functions, from messaging to ordering a taxi and paying bills.
Ms. Yaccarino gave some details of how she expects X to work in a tweet, noting that the business would be artificial intelligence-powered and would be “centred in audio, video, messaging, payments, and banking”. As of Monday morning, the Twitter app itself was still carrying its signature bluebird logo, although the official Twitter account had been changed to the new X logo.
