United States: The twitter owner Mr. Elon Musk has tweeted for the first time after more than 10 million people voted for him to step down as twitter’s chief executive, remarking that only paid Twitter Blue subscribers will be able to vote in future policy-related polls.
Recently, Mr. Musk asked users of the social media platform whether he should step down as the head of the company. The Twitter owner has also promised that he would abide by the results of the poll. When the poll was closed, 57.5 percent voted that he should step down.
Mr. Musk did not tweet in the immediate hours after the poll. The silence of the billionnare finally came to an end when he responded with “Interesting” to the suggestions that the results of the poll were skewed by fake accounts.
Mr. Musk also replied to a user’s suggestion, stating that “Blue subscribers should be the only ones that can vote in policy-related polls.” “Good point, Twitter will make that change.” Musk replied.
Twitter Blue is a paid subscription that allows any user to buy a “blue tick” verified badge for their account.
Since Mr. Musk is the owner of a privately held company, no one can force him out. However, a series of decisions over the past few days has caused disturbances in relations with even some of his closest backers.
The tech tycoon has a history of using twitter polls to make major decisions, including selling a tenth of his Tesla holdings after one poll in 2021, restoring Donald Trump’s account after a second, and reinstating a number of suspended accounts after the third poll.
