Israel: A drone strike targeting an Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) base in northern Israel has killed four soldiers and more than 60 others injured. The attack happened at a military base near Binyamina, about 33 km south of Haifa.

According to the IDF, seven soldiers were severely wounded in the strike, which Hezbollah has asserted responsibility for. The Lebanese militant group noted that the attack was in retaliation for Israeli airstrikes in southern Lebanon and Beirut earlier this week. The group said it used a “swarm of drones” to target a training camp belonging to the IDF’s Golani Brigade.

The Israeli ambulance service, Magen David Adom (MDA) has reported 61 injuries, including three people critically wounded. Among the others, 18 were moderately injured, while 31 fed mild injuries. The disparity between IDF and MDA reports remains unexplained.

The base, initially unidentified due to Israeli censorship rules, was reportedly attacked by low-level drones launched from Lebanon, which failed to activate early-warning alarms. Many of those injured were caught off-guard while in a communal canteen, according to local reports.

The wounded have been evacuated to multiple hospitals across northern Israel, including Hillel Yaffe Medical Centre in Hadera, as well as medical facilities in Tel Hashomer, Haifa, Afula, and Netanya.

Emergency services, including helicopters, were deployed to the scene, transporting casualties to nearby hospitals. Further details on the strike and its aftermath are still emerging.
