United States: The Department of State has announced that US Secretary of State, Mr. Antony Blinken, will travel to Israel and Jordan at the end of the week. Mr. Blinken will also visit Japan, South Korea, and India after his Middle East trip.

“He will reiterate US support for Israel’s right to defend itself, in accordance with international humanitarian law, and discuss the need to take all precautions to minimise civilian casualties, as well as our work to deliver humanitarian assistance,” State Department spokesman Mr. Matthew Miller remarked.

The spokesman said he will depart on November 3, 2023, and he is scheduled to meet Israeli Prime Minister Mr. Benjamin Netanyahu amid the escalating Gaza conflict.

The US confirmed that the first of its citizens were able to leave Gaza via the Rafah crossing into Egypt recently. The US President, Mr. Joe Biden, said more citizens will leave the war conclave in the coming days.

“I spoke with Israeli President Isaac Herzog on efforts to safeguard U.S. citizens; bring hostages home; urgently increase the pace and volume of humanitarian assistance that is entering Gaza for distribution to Palestinian civilians; and prevent the conflict from spreading,” the US Secretary of State shared on X.

Mr. Blinken’s visit comes amid Israel being criticised for inhuman bombardings on Gaza, especially the recent Jabalia refugee camp strike. The UN Human Rights office said that the Jabalia refugee camp strike in Gaza “could amount to war crimes.”

The US’s other Arab allies are upset about it supporting Israel, as per the statement. Jordan has already recalled its ambassador from Israel, stating that it would only return the diplomat after Israel withdrew its violence.
