    Beijing opens 2024 CIFTIS, boosting global trade opportunities

    Beijing: The 2024 China International Fair for Trade in Services (CIFTIS) has themed ‘Global Services, Shared Prosperity’, kicked off with fanfare in Beijing, introducing global participants and setting the stage for new trade and cooperation opportunities.

    This year’s fair has drawn a significant turnout, with participants from 85 countries and international organizations, as well as over 450 Fortune Global 500 companies and industry leaders. The highlight is on China’s dedication to working with the global community to monitor on new opportunities in an increasingly globalized economy. Since its inception in 2012, CIFTIS has evolved into a premier platform for global trade in services, attracting over 900,000 participants from 197 countries and regions over the last decade.

    This year’s CIFTIS focuses on promoting international partnerships, with representatives from over 100 countries participating the event. China is using the platform to promote collaboration in key sectors such as digital services, finance, healthcare, and green technology.

    The event features more than 200 forums, exhibitions, and discussions on emerging trends. Participants are engaging in conversations about leveraging technology, overcoming economic challenges, and enhancing trade flows amid global uncertainties.

    Chinese President Xi Jinping, in a message to the fair, emphasized the importance of service trade in global economic recovery and China’s role in fostering cooperation. The event is seen as a key step in China’s efforts to strengthen its global economic influence.
    As the 2024 event kicks off, CIFTIS remains a major driver of global economic growth. With active participation from countries around the globe, the fair highlights the increasing significance of service trade in promoting global prosperity and creating new investment opportunities across international markets.
