According to the analysis, Earth may undergo a potentially catastrophic increase of 2.9 degrees Celsius this century. The UN Environment Programme’s (UNEP’s) annual Emissions Gap report assessed countries’ promises to tackle climate change against the action needed. According to reports, this year is expected to be the hottest in human history. “The world is witnessing a disturbing acceleration in the number, speed, and scale of broken climate records,” the UNEP noted. The report found the world faces between 2.5C…

United States: Social media platform X, owned by Mr. Elon Musk, has filed a lawsuit against media-related pressure group Media Matters. The X alleged that Media Matters defamed the platform through a report that said ads for major brands had appeared next to posts supporting Nazism. The rebel group further warned that all vessels linked to Israel “will become a legitimate target for armed forces.” “Houthi forces would continue to carry out military operations against the Israeli enemy until the aggression against Gaza stops and the ugly crimes against our Palestinian brothers in Gaza and the West Bank stop,” a spokesperson for the group, Mr. Yahya Saree, noted in a statement on X, formerly Twitter. Israel said the vessel was a British-owned and Japanese-operated cargo ship and described…
Australia: Australia’s online safety regulator has released new standards to tackle terrorist content and child abuse material but won’t compromise end-to-end encryption. In June this year, the eSafety commissioner, Ms. Julie Inman Grant, turned down two industry-made rules as they didn’t mandate cloud storage, email, or encrypted messaging services to spot child abuse material. Instead, the regulator started crafting compulsory standards, which were shared in draft form on November 20. The suggested standards ask cloud and messaging service operators to spot and delete known child abuse and pro-terror content where possible. They also aim to prevent and discourage the creation…

They’re proposing a “Climate Resilience Act” to establish goals for dealing with higher temperatures and extreme weather. They emphasize the urgent need for focused attention on this matter. The National Trust will release a significant report detailing its efforts in adaptation. This includes…
