United Kingdom: A new report has stated that European countries must bridge the vast “planning gap” between their climate targets and action plans. According to analysis from the environmental nonprofit organisation Clean Air Task Force (CATF), the national energy and climate plans (NECPs) that EU member states made in 2019 are outdated, lack key details, and do not line up with long-term strategies. Only half of the states have submitted a fresh proposal two months after an EU deadline for draft plans passed in June. “Three decades is a very short period to plan, permit, and construct the power system…

It comes after the US Department of Justice and a coalition of state attorneys general accused Google of unlawfully abusing its dominance in the search engine market to maintain monopoly power. Google countered that internet users rely on the search engine because of its quality. “Google pays more than $10 billion per year for these privileged positions,’’ said Mr. Kenneth Dintzer, the Justice Department’s lead litigator. “Google’s contracts ensure that rivals…

The world’s biggest economies formally adopted the joint declaration at the G20 summit in India without a single dissenting note. This is the first time that Beijing has commented on the declaration. Russia, too, has hailed the declaration as a “milestone. But Ukraine, which was not represented at the summit, has expressed its disappointment, saying the declaration was “nothing to be proud of. It has anti-inflammatory and antimicrobial properties. This culinary spice has long been used for the treatment of indigestion in Southeast Asia. The study was published in the journal BMJ Evidence-Based Medicine. According to the study, turmeric might be as effective as omeprazole, a drug used to reduce excess stomach acid and treat indigestion. However, it hasn’t been clear how it measures up against conventional drugs for indigestion because there haven’t been any comparative studies. The researchers…
Ukraine: The Ukrainian military has reportedly recaptured several strategic gas and oil drilling platforms from Russia in the Black Sea. It has been occupied by Moscow since 2015. According to Ukrainian military intelligence (GUR), the recapture of the Boyko Towers platforms takes back an asset that Russia seized during the annexation of Crimea and places Kyiv closer to retaking the occupied peninsula. The GUR said that Ukrainian forces had retaken the drilling platforms in a “unique operation.” “For Ukraine, regaining control of the Boyko Towers was of strategic importance, and, as a result, Russia lost the ability to use them…
