Australia: Twitter appears to be experiencing some sort of outage throughout Australia. Some users reported that it takes a long time for posts to load, while others discover that the app is completely unresponsive and displays an error message that instructs users to reload their feed.

There were more than 1000 reports of website outages on the Australian website Down Detector. Twitter users have claimed that the issue affects both the website and the app. Just after 7 AM, Down Detector posted the initial report of the outage, which is still visible. What caused the abrupt outage in Australia is unknown.

Mr. Elon Musk, a tech tycoon, took control of Twitter in the second half of last year through a $44 billion hostile takeover. Since then, the firm has been in the news frequently. In the past week, Twitter users were facing a similar problem worldwide. It apparently affects social media’s reliability.

The billionaire is reportedly seeking to cut costs, and as part of that effort, the company’s headquarters’ rent payments have fallen behind. Twitter owes $136,260 in overdue rent for its San Francisco offices, according to a lawsuit filed by the building‘s landlord last week.

Since Mr. Musk took over ex-employees have also warned that the social platform is headed for a dramatic implosion as software engineers were fired en masse. Mr. Musk announced late last month that he would step down as Twitter’s CEO as soon as he could find “someone foolish enough to take the job.”
