Washington, United States; Originally released in 2009, path-breaking Hollywood movie, Avatar is all set for a global re-release on September 23, 2022.
The remastered version of the original film comes out months before its sequel Avatar: The Way of Water arrives in theaters this December. Directed by maverick filmmaker Mr. James Cameron, Avatar became the highest-grossing film of all time, so expectations are high from its sequel.
Now, the movie gets a significant upgrade as it returns in stunning 4K with high-dynamic range. Mr. James Cameron released a video promoting the Avatar re-release, saying it was “the way it was meant to be seen”.
“Hi everyone, I’m Jim Cameron. Ever since I was a kid going to the movies, there was nothing like the cinema experience. When we made Avatar, we set out to push the limits of that experience. And now the movie has been remastered in stunning 4K, high-dynamic range, and 9.1 sound, and it’s returning to theaters on September 23rd for a limited time. See Avatar the way it was meant to be seen, on the big screen.” Mr. Cameron quoted.
The director went on to say that he is excited for people, who missed it in theaters to experience it, and it’s hard to say with some degree of humility, but he’s really impressed with how the remastered version turned out.
After 13 years in the making, Avatar: The Way of Water will release later this year, features an ensemble cast, including several actors reprising characters from the first film.
Mr. Sam Worthington, Ms. Zoe Saldana, Mr. Stephen Lang, Mr. Giovanni Ribisi, Mr. Joel David Moore and Mr. Matt Gerald will return for their parts, while Sigourney Weaver returns but plays a new character in the film.
