Washington DC: President Donald Trump has announced that the United States has carried out a series of military strikes on three of Iran’s key nuclear sites, Fordow, Natanz, and Isfahan, declaring the mission a ‘very successful attack.’
In a post shared on Truth Social, Trump asserted that the heavily fortified Fordow nuclear facility is now ‘gone’ and added that American warplanes involved in the mission were already on their way back.
The US strikes represent a significant escalation, as Trump’s decision to support Israel’s military campaign against Iran deepens the ongoing regional conflict.

In an Oval Office address lasting just over three minutes, Trump proclaimed that Iran’s future now hinges on ‘either peace or tragedy,’ stressing that the military operation had obliterated Iran’s core nuclear enrichment infrastructure. “The strikes were a spectacular military success,” Trump declared, warning that there are ‘many other targets’ the US could strike if necessary.
Trump’s remarks follow over a week of escalating aerial combat between Israel and Iran, with heavy casualties and destruction reported on both sides. Israel launched its initial attack on June 13, claiming that Tehran was on the verge of developing nuclear weapons. Iran, in contrast, maintains that its nuclear program is strictly for peaceful purposes.
According to reports, the United States deployed six bunker-buster bombs on the Fordow facility, while 30 Tomahawk cruise missiles targeted Natanz and Isfahan. US B-2 bombers were involved in the operation, a US official said on the condition of anonymity. Trump later confirmed these operational details in an interview with media.
Despite the devastation, Iran’s Atomic Energy Organization confirmed that the Fordow, Natanz, and Isfahan facilities had been struck but emphasized that the country’s nuclear ambitions would not be derailed.
In a defiant statement issued, the agency reassured the Iranian public that its atomic program, built by ‘thousands of revolutionary and motivated scientists and experts’, would continue. The agency described the program as a national industry shaped by the sacrifices of ‘nuclear martyrs,’ vowing that it would never be halted by enemy conspiracies.
On the same day as the strikes, the United States reached out diplomatically to Iran, communicating that no further military actions were planned and that Washington does not intend to pursue regime change.
Trump’s actions were praised by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who said that, “Congratulations, President Trump. Your bold decision to target Iran’s nuclear facilities with the awesome and righteous might of the United States will change history.”
Israeli defense officials stated that their military also carried out a fresh wave of strikes on dozens of military installations in Iran’s southwestern region. Since the beginning of Israel’s offensive on June 13, the Iranian Health Ministry, via state-run Nour News, reported at least 430 deaths and 3,500 injuries due to Israeli strikes.
On the other side, Iran’s missile retaliation has caused the deaths of 24 Israeli civilians and injured 1,272 people, 14 of whom are in serious condition, according to the Israeli Prime Minister’s Office. Over 450 Iranian missiles have been fired into Israel since hostilities began.
Efforts by Western powers to mediate and de-escalate the situation have so far failed to yield any tangible results. As tensions remain high, the region braces for possible further confrontation despite public calls for peace.
